Warp Drive
The Warp Drive is one of the systems in Unnamed Space Idle, unlocked on reaching sector 22. It allows spending Warp Cores to jump to specific locations and run a short gauntlet of enemies, gathering Warp Essence from defeated ones, which can then be spent on upgrades in the upgrade tree to boost various systems.
When first unlocked, 5 Warp Cores will be available, 3 of which will start charged. Each core has a base charge time of 5 hours, which can be decreased with various upgrades.
When in a Warp, multiple waves of predetermined enemies will spawn and attack the player, with a boss at the end. As opposed to normal sectors, these waves will spawn gradually regardless of if the previous wave has been cleared, and modules like Void Beacon thus have no effect.
Warp Locations[edit | edit source]
There are multiple different Warp Locations, unlocked by defeating "Elite" sectors (such as 22B) which have much harder enemies than their non-elite counterparts (usually being about 3 sectors ahead in difficulty). Upon unlocking the Warp Drive, locations Alpha, Beta and Ceta will already be unlocked.
A warp location can be opened for 6 minutes by spending a charged warp core on it, during which it can be attempted as many times as desired until the time runs out, or the warp is closed manually. If beaten, the next higher difficulty may be attempted immediately, though players will only gain essence of their highest run. If a warp is not fully completed, it will still grant a partial amount of its warp essence, depending on how many enemies have been defeated.
The difficulty of a warp location is rated in 0.5s of a sector, i.e. a warp location at difficulty 50.0 will be about as hard as the beginning of the actual sector 50. Each difficulty increases the Warp Multiplier, which increases the amount of essence gained from completing warps. The warp multiplier uses the formula [Warp Essence Unique Completions Coefficient]^[Unique Difficulty Completions]
. The coefficient starts with a base value of 1.05 and can be increased with various warp upgrades, and [Unique Difficulty Completions]
refers to how many times the difficulty has been increased for any warp. For example, if the difficulty of Alpha and Beta are both at 24, [Unique Difficulty Completions]
would be 8.

Massive Warp Drive[edit | edit source]
After reaching sector 78, the Warp drive can be upgraded to the Massive Warp Drive.
Upgrading the Massive Warp Drive multiplies warp cores charge speed by 0.015, but also multiplies warp essence gained by 1.00e5, and unlocks the second tab of warp upgrades.

Warp Tethering[edit | edit source]
Warp Tethering is unlocked on maxing all upgrades in the massive warp tree with G6 BB3 complete. Warp Cores are no longer used and warp locations can be jumped to at any time with no cost. When a location has been cleared once it can be tethered. A tethered location generates skein when fully charged, then it needs to discharge to generate residuum. Every difficulty cleared above starting difficulty increases skein gain by x1.25 but does not increase residuum gain.
Charge time depends on the "Warp Core Charge Speed" stat, while discharge time defaults to 1 hour and can only be affected by a corruption upgrade currently.
Tether Warp Locations
Name | Unlocks from | Starting difficulty | Base Charge Time | Residuum Gain | Enemies |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Oizys | unlocks with tether | 124 | 10000 minutes | 1 |
|
Phonoi | unlocks with tether | 128 | 1e5 minutes | 2 |
|
Quirinus | reach 132 | 133 | 2e6 minutes | 3 |
|
Tether Warp Upgrades
Upgrades are separated into a tree for each warp location, and one for residuum.
