It's important to pay attention to your stats and if you see boost penalty removing a lot of stats in the upper tab - add more boost penalty removals until you see the penalty is either fully gone or nearly fully gone.
It is extremely important to increase the difficulty of all warp locations as much as possible, and to unlock any new locations from elite sectors whenever strong enough to kill their bosses. Ignoring warp locations will result in significantly hindering progression.

Each sector has different density values for these different branches, which determine how much research the selected reward in each branch will get on enemy kills (excluding any bonuses and multipliers).
